We produce pork, lamb, goat, and quail that are raised humanely and with respect from birth to butcher. Most of our livestock is fed 100% organically and all are pastured and all graze. We also produce vegetables and fruits in season. Our quail and pastured hens produce eggs with rich orange yokes. Hammock Farm is located in Brooksville, in Central Florida. We are your source of naturally raised food with no herbicides, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, soy, and of course always non-GMO.
We want your next meal to naturally be the best you've ever tasted!
Our pork is 100% Berkshire. According to the Rouxbe Online Cooking School Blog: Berkshire pork is renowned for its richness, texture, marbling, juiciness, tenderness and overall depth of flavor. It is thought by many to be the Kobe beef of pork. It is said to have a very specific taste, not generic and bland or mild like regular pork.
We find our Katahdin and Katahdin cross lambs to have a mild lamb taste. They are tender and have good marbling. In a taste comparision with store bought lamb we find the store bought lamb to be tougher and have more of a gamey taste. Katahdins are a medium sized hair sheep so expect smaller (but tastier) cuts than you would get from commercial feed lot sheep.
